ABOUT DD8

We are a company focused on delivering technology—driven solutions for the M&A, venture capital, capital markets, and real estate sectors. We generate intelligence from data to streamline and accelerate the due diligence process, enabling the parties involved in a transaction to focus on strategic aspects and make informed decisions. To do so, we leverage technology to aggregate and analyze data from various public and private sources.

DD8 is fully committed to the security and privacy of the data subjects whose personal data is processed, as well as to ensuring their right to choose how their data is used.

WHAT DATA WE PROCESS

We process information made publicly available by federal, state, and municipal government entities in Brazil, including data disclosed under the Freedom of Information Law (Law No. 12.527/2011) and the Federal Government’s Open Data Policy, as well as other publicly accessible non—governmental data sources. In specific projects, we may also receive data from partners, suppliers, and clients. In such cases, we always rely on contractual clauses and compliance reports that ensure a high level of data protection and security, based on the authorizations our partners and clients hold for processing personal data—while also ensuring transparency to the data subject regarding the processing carried out by DD8.

As the controller of personal data collected through our website, DD8 employs robust protocols for information security and data protection, aligned with industry best practices. Since data management and analysis are core to our services, we have implemented internal policies to define clear standards for the processing of Personal Data within the scope of our activities, ensuring effective governance over internal processes and compliance with applicable legal requirements.

This Policy is published and enforced by DD8 as part of its compliance efforts with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD).

DATA PROCESSING

DD8 processes Personal Data according to the relevant categories and through distinct sources:

  • Via public sector platforms operated by direct and indirect public administration entities that disclose data in accordance with open data policies, as well as through other platforms that make publicly accessible data available, always using proprietary technologies and methodologies;
  • From data provided by business partners with whom DD8 maintains ongoing relationships (“Partners”), always with lawful grounds for processing Personal Data and the use of appropriate technical, legal, and organizational safeguards;
  • From datasets provided by suppliers, responsible for occasional data deliveries (“Suppliers”), always with lawful grounds for processing Personal Data and the use of appropriate technical, legal, and organizational safeguards;
  • From our clients and platform users, who share data under their control so that DD8 may process it, generate intelligence, insights, and reports. DD8 clients, as the data controllers, are responsible for defining the purposes, methods, and duration of Personal Data processing;
  • All data processed by DD8 is used solely for purposes related to our products and solutions.

SHARING OF PERSONAL DATA

DD8 operates in partnership with a range of other companies to deliver its products and services. Accordingly, we may share your Personal Data with partner companies, always mantaining the highest security standards, safeguarding your privacy, and, whenever possible, in anonymized form. Below we describe with whom and for what purposes we may share Personal Data.

  • Our service providers and technology vendors: We engage partners to operate specific services, and some of them may process the Personal Data we collect—such as companies that provide data hosting, infrastructure security, identity verification, and registration validation services. We are committed to carefully assessing our suppliers and entering into contractual obligations with them regarding information security and Personal Data protection, thereby minimizing risks to Data Subjects.
  • Our clients: To deliver our services, we may share with our clients Personal Data collected from public sector platforms, as well as other data received from our Suppliers and Partners.
  • Public authorities: Whenever required by law or court order, DD8 will share Personal Data. Whenever possible, we will oppose abuses of authority, and if we believe a specific order to be abusive, we will act to defend the privacy rights of the Data Subjects.

In addition to the situations described above, we reserve the right to share any Personal Data we deem necessary to comply with legal obligations or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DD8, our employees, or our clients.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA

Although DD8 is headquartered in Brazil and its products and services are primarily intended for the Brazilian market—making Brazilian data protection laws applicable—the Personal Data we collect may be transferred to other countries, such as the United States of America. These transfers may occur when engaging foreign service providers and technology vendors contracted by DD8 to ensure a higher level of security in the preservation of the data we process. Such transfers are supported by technical measures that guarantee data asset redundancy, helping prevent severe consequences resulting from events like natural disasters that could damage or destroy specific datacenters. They also reflect DD8’s partnerships with certain vendors and service providers, such as cloud infrastructure providers, whose physical storage infrastructure may be located in other countries.

DD8 strives to ensure that such transfers involve only companies that demonstrate compliance—or are in the process of becoming compliant—with applicable data protection and privacy laws, and that maintain a level of compliance equal to or more stringent than that required under applicable Brazilian legislation

DATA SUBJECT RIGHTS AND GUARANTEES

As the Data Subject, you are the owner of your Personal Data, and Brazilian law guarantees you a series of rights related to it. We are committed to upholding these rights, and in this section, we explain how you may exercise them with DD8:

  1. Since we often obtain data from other controllers (typically public sector entities, Suppliers, Partners, and DD8 clients), we cannot guarantee that every rights request submitted to DD8 will be fully granted. However, in cases where we act as the controller of the data in question, we will take all necessary steps to fulfill your request, including coordination with our contractors and subcontractors. For example: if you request correction of a portion of your Personal Data, we may update our internal databases controlled by DD8. However, this does not guarantee that the original sources from which the data was obtained (such as an open data platform from a government entity) will also comply with your request for correction. In such cases, it is the Data Subject’s responsibility to submit the request to the original controller in order to exercise their rights fully.
  2. DD8 provides tools that allow you to confirm whether we hold any Personal Data about you, as well as access such data upon request. You may submit such requests by email to dpo@dd8.ai
  3. If you find that any of your Personal Data is incorrect or outdated, you may request correction by contacting us at dpo@dd8.ai. However, please note that, since some of the data we collect originates from government platforms, we may retain the original version as made available by such public sources-even after processing your correction request. This retention serves to ensure data traceability and integrity within our internal processes. We guarantee your right to have your Personal Data corrected whenever it resides in databases controlled by DD8. However, we cannot modify or control data in databases maintained by public authorities.
  4. You have the right to request the partial or complete deletion of your Personal Data. However, it is important to note that not all Personal Data in our systems can be deleted—especially when such data must be retained for compliance with legal obligations. Even in such cases, we will maintain our commitment to confidentiality and data protection, keeping such data solely for the specific purposes required by law. If you wish to request deletion, simply send your request to dpo@dd8.ai.
  5. In general, we do not engage in direct communication with Data Subjects on a daily basis. Therefore, we may process Personal Data without relying on your consent, based on legitimate interest—whether ours or that of third parties. We exercise this right responsibly and always aim to minimize the impact on Data Subjects. In any case, if you believe that a specific processing purpose negatively affects your rights, you may object by emailing dpo@dd8.ai. In some cases, we may demonstrate that we have legitimate grounds to continue processing your Personal Data, but we will always provide you with clear and transparent justification for doing so.
  6. DD8 relies on legal bases provided by law to process Personal Data without obtaining specific consent, whenever such processing is lawfully permitted. However, depending on how you interact with our products and services, and in specific circumstances, you may be asked to provide consent for DD8 to process your Personal Data. If you wish—or deem it necessary—you may revoke your consent at any time by sending an email to dpo@dd8.ai specifying the context. In such cases, we will inform you of any consequences resulting from the revocation of your consent (e.g., limitations in using certain services or features of our solutions).
  7. You may also request a copy of your Personal Data processed by DD8 by emailing dpo@dd8.ai. Upon confirming your identity, we will be able to provide it.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

DD8’s personal data retention policy is aligned with applicable laws. Personal Data is stored only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, unless there is another legal basis for retaining it—such as compliance with legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations—provided such retention is properly justified under the law.

We are responsible for safeguarding all Personal Data we process and using it solely for the purposes outlined in this Policy. To ensure privacy and the protection of Personal Data, we adopt security best practices appropriate to our operations, including access controls, encryption, advanced threat monitoring, data loss prevention (DLP), and other information security systems and procedures. Our security management practices are aligned with ISO 27001, and the ISO 27002 controls are integrated into DD8’s operations through dedicated teams, tools, and systems that follow the highest available standards.

DD8 requires all employees involved in data processing to sign Confidentiality Agreements, provides training in Information Security, Privacy, and Data Protection, implements appropriate measures to ensure data integrity, and ensures data availability through backup routines and incident response plans, among other damage mitigation practices.

While we make every effort to protect all Personal Data we process, we cannot guarantee absolute security, particularly in the face of malicious third—party acts. Hardware or software failures outside of DD8’s control and other external factors may compromise the security of the Personal Data we hold. If you become aware of or identify anything that may compromise the security of your data, please contact us at dpo@dd8.ai.
